I’m a true travelling pigeon. I love discovering places, people, regions, countries and languages. I certainly inherited that gene from my father, a great travel lover. As soon as I was financially independent, I travelled. By train, car, boat, plane… until that famous flight in June 1994.

I was coming back from South America, and we “fell” for 1h30… the minutes, the seconds were true hell, with no information at all, either during the flight or afterwards! They simply changed our aircraft in São Paulo and we took off again.

So I simply stopped travelling. Until, for work, I had to go to various European cities, and on every flight my distress, fears and anxiety became unmanageable. When I knew I had a flight, my life stopped at take-off time. I had reached the point of not booking any appointments after that date: neither work nor personal — nothing. My life stopped on the day of the flight. Anyway, I was going to die.

I had heard about this course in Geneva; I made some enquiries in 1999 about where, how, when, but at the time I had no obligation to travel. So the file I had prepared stayed in a folder until 2008.

I signed up for the course and lived three intense days of discoveries and emotions. At the end-of-course flight I dissolved into tears on the plane, then, surrounded by my two coaches, Jean-Luc and Tamara, we left for Zurich… and came back!

Since then I fly, I travel, I enjoy packing my bags, my life goes on, I have projects, a future. My apprehensions are still there, but they are manageable and much smaller. I no longer anticipate; I trust; I introduce myself on flights; and above all I know I can count on the unfailing support of the whole Voler sans peur team.

And that alone gives us wings ;)
